We're in [Oct. 31st, 2006|01:15 pm]

Ordered our APs today.
Two adults and one child. It's a little steep, but considering the value once we take a second trip, it's totally the right decision.
I have to order DDP for us now. But I'm going to wait for a couple days. It'll make the cash outlay seem a little less... Crazy.

Not long now...

I just ordered my AP this morning! Just thought I'd share! I opted to have my voucher sent to me so I could stare at it in anticipation, rather than leaving it at Will Call.

I also started packing this weekend. Well, packing in the sense that I tried on my favorite shorts and capris and put the ones I'm taking in a garment bag to pack them later.

Go Detroit! [Oct. 23rd, 2006|07:07 am]

38 days! Can you believe it?
Actually, for some of our group there are only about three days left. But we're talking about the December trip here.
I'm kicking the diet/gym regimen into high gear. I won't look different, but hopefully I'll feel different. I wanted the World Showcase to be my weight-loss victory lap, but I don't think I'll have lost enough to warrant a victory lap. At all. Still, I'm hitting it hard now.

And while I'm at it - it looked COLD in Detroit last night.
Go Tigers.

So close, I can almost taste the Dole Whip [Oct. 12th, 2006|10:52 am]

I added the dining plan and Magical Express to my reservation this morning. I needed to call to make a reservation for May and figured I'd combine the calls. (Ordering a new Annual Pass has to wait until the 30th, 'cause that's when I get my bonus.)

According to my handy-dandy little Disney Time countdown clock, I will be stepping off a plane in Orlando in 49 days, 23 hours, and 21 minutes. I'd say that counts as "under 50" days. Oh, wait! How does Daylight Savings Time effect that? Should I have waited an hour to post this? Eh, I'll be boarding at 6:40 AM, so I think I can count that as the official start. Unlike some people *coughBillcough* I actually include weekend days in my countdown.

Is it too early to pack?

Radio [Sep. 24th, 2006|11:22 pm]

I uploaded a ton of new stuff to MouseJunkies Radio tonight.
Gotta start adding podcasts to it soon...

My brother in law and I have officially started the MouseJunkies band, as well. Today we jammed for a while and learned "I'm Going to Disneyland" (we change the words), "Small World" (a punk/metal version), "Substitute" (the Who song, but we're changing the lyrics. We're thinking 'Disney Food.')
Anyway, we need Ryan to start putting some vocals to these tunes. You ready, Ryan? Then we can record the demo and get booked for next summer's town festivals and get the tunes up on MouseJunkies radio.

See? It's all about the BRAND.

FYI, "Dream Along With Mickey" show [Sep. 21st, 2006|11:25 am]

[music |HSM, "We're All In This Together"]

So, the scuttlebutt around the DIS is that now that the Happiest Celebration on Earth is over, the Cinderellabration show is ending, too. The new castle forecourt show will be "Dream Along With Mickey," beginning at the end of September. It will feature characters such as Mickey and Minnie, Peter Pan and Captain Hook (and Smee and Wendy), and assorted Princesses.

There are also other new shows starting soon. The "Cowboy Camp with Woody" in Frontierland was confirmed by a cast member who's starting rehearsals for it now. I forgot what all of the other rumored shows are, but I do know that one was based on High School Musical. (If that's true, please keep me away from it. Nobody needs to see me dork out and start singing along.)

In other news... my little Disney Time countdown clock says 70 days! (Well, 70 days and 20 hours, but that 20 hours doesn't count, does it?)

Inspirado [Sep. 16th, 2006|06:07 pm]

Jenelope's awesome song inspired me.
Thus, the Mousejunkies haiku:

Purple seated bus
Bring me to breakfast right now
Biscuits and gravy

76 days left [Sep. 16th, 2006|05:48 pm]

[Current Location |home]
[mood |cheerfulcheerful]
[music |"Seventy Six Trombones"]

Just to be silly, I wrote a little song to the tune of "Seventy Six Trombones."

Seventy six days left for the Mousejunkies
‘Til a hundred and ninety hours in Disney World
They were hoping for days and days of Florida’s sunny rays
Not the rain and wind which sometimes swirled

Seventy six days left with a trip to plan
A hundred and eighty-two meal credits to burn
There were over a hundred places at which to stuff their faces
Enough food to make your tummy churn

There were fireworks displays every day to light the sky
Thundering, thundering, each and every night
The parade floats and characters were in good supply
Each minute another happy sight

There were pirates roaming freely in Adventureland
Plundering, plundering, livelier than before
Brand new stuff of every type and Cast Members of every stripe
All to keep you coming back for more

Seventy six days left doesn’t seem like much
With a hundred and ten things left to get done
Keep planning and pack, pack, pack
‘Cause I can’t wait to get back
Soon we’ll say, “Today’s a Disney Day!”

Radio, take 2 [Sep. 13th, 2006|10:44 am]

OK, I got it working: http://www.live365.com/stations/bburke99

I had to chop my playlist way down. It's only an hour and 20 minutes long or something now.
I'll try to improve it.
And Tapestry of Nations LIVES on it!

Audio [Sep. 12th, 2006|07:52 pm]

OK, you might be able to critique my Web design skills. And my coding is unbelievably archaic.
But you have to admit I've got enthusiasm...

"What?" you say? "Whatever could you be talking about?"

Well, I'll show you.
Check out the new MouseJunkies Radio accessible from the front page of MouseJunkies.
Might not be there forever. Haven't decided if I'm going to keep doing it, but it does have some really cool audio from the parks.

So... Whaddaya think?
